Some scenes just stop you in your tracks. This was one of them. I came across this view at sunset, right by Jaffa Gate—the entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City—and knew I had to paint it.There’s something surreal about painting Jerusalem.
The weight of history, the light on the stones, the sense that every wall has seen too much to tell.
