What is a live wedding painting?
I set up at your venue with my easel and oils. While you celebrate, I paint.
By the end of the night, your painting is already taking shape on canvas. I bring it back to my Tel Aviv studio to refine, varnish, and finish properly. What you get is an original oil painting—the same medium, same technique, same standards I use for galleries and museums.
This isn't event entertainment. It's a commission. You're hiring a fine artist to document your wedding the way artists have documented important moments for centuries. Slowly, deliberately, built to outlast everything else.
About Avraham
I'm a classically trained oil painter and fine artist based in Tel Aviv. My work has been exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, and museums across Israel and the United States.
In 2022, I was a finalist for the Archibald Prize, Australia's most prestigious portrait competition.
My gallery practice explores Jewish identity, memory, and resilience through the lens of European classical realism. Live wedding paintings let me capture a different side of Jewish life—the joy and continuity that make our people endure.
I only take on a handful of wedding commissions each year. Each one is painted with the same care and technique as my gallery work: slow, deliberate, built to last generations.

Jewish weddings right now mean something different than they did five years ago. After October 7th, after rising antisemitism, after all of it—choosing to celebrate, to build a Jewish family, to dance under the chuppah is an act of resilience.
I paint these celebrations because they matter. My gallery work explores Jewish trauma, displacement, and survival. Wedding paintings are the counterpoint—Jewish joy, continuity, and life-choosing in real time.
